FIND A COACH : Christine Faas
She began coaching during her sophomore year at Rollins College where she was hired and trained to be a writing coach. Today, she is a Learning and Organization Development Consultant for Kaiser Permanente (KP) where she coaches doctors and leaders on their communication and leadership skills. She is earning her Masters Degree from the University of Georgia in Learning, Leadership and Organization Development and will graduate in December 2018.
Prior to joining KP, she held various professional development positions in banking, manufacturing, and healthcare with Georgia-Pacific, WellStar and the Royal Bank of Scotland. She also worked for several non-profits and the U.S. House of Representatives.
Faas loves to learn about cultural diversity and be involved with work that decreases oppression. While working for the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, she ran a mobile eye clinic that provided eye exams and eyeglasses for indigent patients. While working for the D.C. Service Corps, she coordinated a corporate/community partnership that provided vision screening for 10,000 children in the D.C. Public School System. This partnership found 1,500 children that needed eye exams and eyeglasses. This project was recognized in Fortune Magazine as an example of excellence in corporate/community partnerships.
Faas also worked for Hands on Atlanta and the Southern Regional Council. She is passionate about civil rights and making healthcare available to all.
Faas earned the Thriving Lifestyle Award at KP in recognition of her significant personal commitment to improving her health and the health of her colleagues. She thrives by walking, cooking vegan meals, practicing mindfulness and yoga, and playing with her many nieces and nephews.
Faas also owns her own coaching business. Her coaching clients range in age from teenagers applying to college to baby boomers making the transition from corporate America to retirement. In between, she has people seeking career change, business owners looking to improve their communication and leadership skills, and individuals working to make their dreams come true. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
