Who I am for my Clients

In my role as a leadership and life coach, I combine compassion, inquiry, integrity and directness to help my clients, including leaders, get to the heart of their challenges. I believe that my clients are fully capable and that my role is to help them rise to their full potential. My passion is working with others – guiding clients in making the invisible, visible and the undistinguished, clear and hence unleashing their human potential for the purpose of them having and living a life they love. My mission it to be a loving stand for all so that all people know their own strength, have an experience of being known and know themselves as a contribution. I will not ask my clients to do anything that I am not willing to do. And taking on challenges and facing fears is a cornerstone of my coaching philosophy. In living my philosophy, I took on doing a sprint triathlon at the age of 33 even though I did not know how to swim and was scared of the water. This was my biggest physical challenge of my life so far. I know what it is like to face the fear yet do ‘it’ anyway. And given I have been through it, I am clear on how to coach my clients through whatever it is they would like to achieve. If you have a dream and want to achieve it but have been stopped for whatever reason and are serious about making that dream happen, I am the coach for you!

My Professional Background

My coaching draws upon more than 17 years of experience as a leader in project management and clinical research. I have held leadership positions in small and large pharmaceutical and biotech companies, including Johnson and Johnson, ICOS and Cell Therapeutics. In addition, I hold a Masters of Science degree in statistics from SMU. While I had a successful career in the biotech industry that I really enjoyed, it was not my passion. My passion was coaching others to have a life they love. So after 17 years in senior management in the Biotech industry, I decided to take steps to move toward that passion. I faced my fears and went after my dream which was to transition into a career where I could better utilize my passion for training and coaching yet still incorporate my strong and broad leadership and management experience.
I have now been involved in transformational work for over ten years, both in participating in leadership and personal growth seminars as well as coaching participants in leadership programs. I am a certified mentor for EQmentor Inc, an organization that specializes in raising the emotional intelligence of business professionals. I hold a Master of Arts degree in applied behavioral science (focus on coaching and leadership development in organizations) from the Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS). I am a graduate of the Accomplishment Coaching Coaches Training Program and am currently a mentor coach for that program. In addition, I have started a private coaching practice.

For Fun

On a personal note, I am from Southwest Louisiana. I am a Cajun and enjoy everything about the culture - the people, the food, the dancing and most especially the music. I recently have started taking action to fulfill my dream of learning to play the Cajun accordion - I bought an accordion and am taking lessons. I will soon be able to play that wonderful music on the accordion that I have grown up listening to. I am excited! In addition, I enjoy my family, friends, reading, dancing, personal development and enjoying the beautiful nature of the Pacific Northwest.

When I dare to be powerful - to use my strength in the service of my vision - then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid. Audre Lorde
